NEW ADDITION TO MY SERVICE I have purchased an aqua doula labor/birthing tub for addition to doula client package or for rental.

Price includes liners. Aqua doula tubs are accepted in most of the major hospitals and birthing centers in New Orleans. Having a labor/birthing tub can make a huge difference to the birthing experience.  Hydrotherapy is a natural pain reliever and relaxes the body and muscles significantly along with naturally relaxing the body/emotions and mind.  The weightlessness/warmth and water bring an element to birthing unlike any other pain relief method.  I highly recommend using a tub for birthing/laboring, it is the wave of the future as more and more women are seeking alternative methods of birthing naturally. 

Full Doula Package

• 4 childbirth education/prenatal visits with you and  1 visit with your doctor or midwife. 
  
• Prenatal visits include prenatal and childbirth education. This is great for parents who have busy lives and need their childbirth educator to work around their schedule rather than taking scheduled classes. I form fit and specialize your prenatal education to your specific birthing wishes and needs.
  
• Yoga and stretching lessons to optimize relaxation and physical flexibility.  Lessons on positions, labor rhythms and breathing methods for every kind of birth option.  This will help during pregnancy and labor.
• one complimentary massage.
  
• Constant labor and delivery care during the birthing process.

• Some of the techniques that I will use to help you manage your labor and delivery are:

  • *Calming and comforting breathing techniques;
  • *Aromatherapy;
  • *Movements and positions that help facilitate the descent of your baby;

  • *Soothing massage to relax your body and mind;
  • *Support for your partner and guidance on how he can best support you;

• 2 postnatal visits where I help you with breastfeeding or feeding choice.  Adjustment to baby and light housekeeping, meal prep.

Partial Doula Package - This is useful for those of you that are already receiving childbirth education  classes from your birthing center.  This includes 2 prenatal visits, full labor and delivery care and 1 postnatal visit. - $650

 I specialize in prenatal massage and offer Pre- and post-natal massages for Doula clients at a  $10 discount during the extent of package time.

 Postnatal Doula Service

 I also offer a separate postnatal service for individuals wanting help and care for a longer period  of time separate from the doula package.  some people are only interested in a postnatal doula.  I help with baby care, housework, cooking and helping with the transition of new baby at home. This is especially helpful for mom and dad if there is no family nearby or when dad/partner goes back to work and mom is alone.

 I also do infant massage and teach you infant massage techniques.

 Charge for postnatal care per hour $17. However am open to negotiation and using a sliding scale to meet your budget needs.

Usually Postnatal Doula work is from 3-5 hours in home with you helping you with all needs.  I will also include massages for feet, back, hands and scalp. 

Monthly packages can be arranged.  If prepayed per month you will get  a free massage or a free date night out for you and your partner.

If you are wanting a full on therapeutic massage price will be $10 off my regular price with your postnatal package.

Child Birth Instruction:

I also offer Childbirth education and Infant care classes specialized to the couple.  Usually Childbirth and Infant care classes specialized to the clients need.  My instruction is one on one to give more of a personalized experience and to work with Client's schedule in the comfort of your own home.   I also assist you and your partner in getting your home ready for your little one on the way.

This is a great perk in that most childbirth education classes are on a set schedule and some parents have a hard time making it to all classes.  I work with you  and your partner as individuals with the curriculum based around your personal needs and desires on childbirth.  Working one on one ensures that all material is understood and not rushed.  We cover all bases as you would in any other class and then bring in any other information you need to form fit what you want in your experience.

 I am a firm believer that having knowledge and education equals empowerment during birth.  Also I focus on helping both you and your partner to learn to let go and go with the flow of Labor and Delivery.  It is important to know what you would like to happen during your birth however sometimes plans need to change and it is important to be at peace with the process. Labor and delivery can be a positive experience and that is the most important element even if you birth plan changes a bit for the health and safety of your little one and yourself.  Going with the flow of birth helps you and your partner to achieve this outcome.  

I have taught this childbirth instruction method with quite a few of my clients and found that they felt confident and very positive about their experiences overall.
